Next Monday you were away from your business for a week.

what would fall apart?

Saturday 3 October · 13:30 to 15:30 · Barcelona
Two hours. Twelve people. No slides, no apps.

Hold me a place
You went away in August. You took the laptop.

Maybe you told yourself it was just in case. Then you answered three messages on the first morning, approved something on Tuesday, and lost an afternoon to a problem nobody else could solve.

That is not a holiday, and it is not a scheduling problem.

Here is the part nobody says out loud. You are not busy because your business is doing well. You are busy because your business cannot move without you in the middle of it. Every decision, every approval, every small question comes back to you.

You built it that way, and at the start that was exactly right, because there was nobody else. The problem is that stage never closed.

A task is something you did.
A pass-through is different.

A pass-through is a moment where your business stopped and waited for you. Each one takes about two minutes, which is why you never count them, and why they break your day anyway.
1
Someone asked you how to do something they have asked before.
2
A price needed approving.
3
A client wanted an answer that only you could give.
4
Something broke that had broken before.
5
A supplier called you directly, because they always do.
6
You checked something that someone had already done.
7
Somebody waited to start until you replied.
8
A decision came back to you because nobody else could make it.

That was eight, and none of them were yours. Last week, how many were?

You have already tried to fix this

An app. A course. Someone who was going to automate a few things. Maybe all three. And you are still the one everything passes through.

That is not because you chose badly. It is because each of them sold you a piece and nobody ever drew you the plan. Tools do not fix a business that depends on one person. They add one more thing for that person to manage.

The order that works is this one.
First
Diagnosis
Then
Architecture
Then
Systems
Last
Tools
Almost everyone starts at the end. That is where the money went.

What happens in the two hours

No slides, no apps, nothing to install, nothing to sign up for afterwards. You write, and I run the map.

You list what actually passed through you last week. Not what you think passed through you, the real list. You put a number on it and compare that number to the one you guessed before you started. The gap is almost always wider than people expect.

Then you sort that list using three decision rules you can keep using long after the session, and you leave with your own three priorities in order, on paper: the things that, if they stopped going through you, would give you back the most.

This is for you if
You have a few years behind you, real clients and real revenue.
The business works and it cannot grow, because it all still runs through you.
You have bought tools before and they did not change the shape of your week.
This is not for you if
You are at the idea stage and have not started doing business yet.
You want to be shown software. This is not a technology class.
You want to listen rather than write. You will be working for two hours.

Who is running it

I am Laura Moreno. I have spent twenty years building digital systems for companies, seventeen of them in London.
I work with owners who have built something that works and can no longer grow, because it all still depends on them.
