Oh yes, I have this in mind for a very long time; I want to create simple and easy tech tips for you and better format than short audio.
So here my first episode for this Friday's Tech Tip podcast.
Technology and the digital world can be overwhelming; yes, many options, platform and things to.
In this episode, I will talk about one simple thing, you can use to start to sell your product or service online, and it's doesn't require a website 🙂
You can listen it here (2:30 min long):
Having a conversation with a client a few days ago, as we are doing a digital transformation of her physical business to the online world. She has an online presence and social media channels, but there is something you need to do before offering her product and service online if you are coming from a physical place.
Finding out the why, what and who of her online side of her business.
If you have well though brand, your Why will be the same, then the What depends on your offer, which could differ from the one you were offering before. There are some things you cannot get online. The experience and feel of a product as a fitness class; you cannot recreate that in the online world. It will be a different experience, and it will have other benefits.
Then the Who is critical, who is your ideal client. You can find out that it's the same for some products and services, but for others, the ideal client is very different.
These three pillars are critical for the transition of the physical business to selling online.
After knowing that, the How and What to use on digital tools will be easy to define and understand.
So, do you have your Why, What and Who defined in your business?
After many years helping entrepreneurs sell online and set up their e-commerce, I saw the success and failure. My passion for keeping learning brings me to learn about strategies, learn about cases studies and practise a lot with my own clients to see what it's the real truth about selling online.
This is the biggest mistake I came across. Learn how to sell online, follow a plan done by someone else without knowing your product and brand, and your ideal client. Follow step by step how they did and then after few months trying you find out doesn't work for you.
Here we need to be realist, there is a bit of work before stat to selling online, and it's studying your market and more, find out if what you want to sell online someone wants to buy it. Yes, it sounds simple, but many people don't start there, just spend money on a great online website, marketing and so on to find out that no-one is interested in what they are selling.
And not a single plan work for everyone, we are unique, our products and services that you offer should be unique, so there is no size fit all out there for an online selling plan.
Just the opposite for me, less but better! You don't need to spend a lot (money and time!) to have a huge website or online platform to start selling something.
My formula:
Start small > make it work > repeat > grow
Nope, having a considerable number of followers on social media doesn't mean they all will buy from you. Actually, the conversion ratio on Instagram or Facebook is about 2-3% if you don't have a well-curated follower list - with a well-curated followers list you can make around 8% of the conversion rate.
What will sell your product or service, is to know very well your ideal client. Who will buy your product/service and why?
I love technology, and yes, I'm good with it because I'm a curious person, but not all the time like that, by trying things and learning new things I become good at 'seeing' what can work for me and not complicate my life. And that is what technology and digital tools are for me, to make my life easier and don't confuse it more than it's now - I'm a mother of three little ones, and time is precious -
There are tools and tech for everyone, and for all levels, so you need to find what you are comfortable with and learn just the basics, and not, tech is not scary. By nature humans are scared of small changes, just embrace a bit of learning something new, for the good of selling your products or services online 😉
Selling online it's not about selling something; it's about helping someone. The key to a successful and profitable online shop is to help people and your customers. Make connections, be there for them and stay in touch.
Plan a good customer journey.

Last week you did a review of 2020, and wow, what a year, if you didn't see my post and free 'Review 2020 Workbook' you can find it here:
One more end of the year review, but better 😉
This week, I'm bringing you a Plan 2021, one that you are the priority, a lesson I learned, on the hard way, of course, that if you don't take care of your self, you cannot take care of your business and your family.
We will do first a bit of brainstorming and cutting to have a clear list for projects and goals. On the way, we won't feel overwhelmed, and we will be able to make to most of 2021.
Find a comfortable place, switch off distractions like mobile phone and close tabs in your browser, or close your browser fully (after reading this, of course...) and if you cannot (not every time I do that) just choose to be present and do the 2021 workbook the best you can, there is no wrong or right here, just you.
And if you have the chance to do in a group, I will highly recommend to do it with a group of friends or fellow entrepreneurs.
Here the link to download the Planning 2021 workbook:
Or a better End of the Year Review for 2020
I was hesitating to do it, yes, more or less I do, on my head every year over Christmas period, but this year I decided to do it on a journal and ask few key questions.
Every year, on one way or another, I reflect the year that it's ending, but not in detail. Sometimes because the year didn't go as well as I want it so better to forget and pass a page over ... (one mistake for me) other years because I was so busy with my kids! (one more mistake, priority you!)
But this year, I really want to reflect 2020, and look forward to 2021 to come.
Find a comfortable place, switch off distractions like mobile phone and close tabs in your browser, or close your browser fully (after reading this, of course...) and if you cannot (not every time I do that) just choose to be present and answer the following questions without thinking much (so intuition will come with the first words)
Review your calendar if you need, go month by month if you feel to and write down the highlights of each month or each quarter.
Here a few categories I choose to follow, add or remove your own categories.
After review all those categories, it's easy to write what you learn from this year. Make a list, without categorizing them, of what you learned this year.
What are the top 3 or 4 highlights of 2020
What are you proud of? Or make a positive impact on your, your family or people around you?
Anything you don't want to take with you in 2020
What are you going to leave behind in 2020, that you don't want to carry forward?

Stay tuned next week for part 2 of 'A Better End of The Year Review for 2020", I will publish in my blog or sign up for my exclusive newsletter to don't miss it.

Apart from the time you spend doing that, sending emails to every single person they ask you for your product or service via email. Also, if you don't have a smooth and fast payment process, then the selling will be hard, and you could end on fewer sells.
One of the reasons a person don't finish the pay/buy process is due to how difficult or how many steps is that the payment process.
Let's fix that, if you have a sale page instead of sending one by one emails and on it, you have an easy way to pay, book or register, then your chances to sell more increase, and also, you will spend less time sending emails!
A sale page should be simple, and you can publish one in just two hours, even without a website.
Yes, two hours, here three simples steps you need to do to start to offer your services or products online and stop sending manual emails or your bank account details to prospects.
And now to share the link in your social media, WhatsApp, email newsletter, added it to your bio in Instagram. And start to get more booking for your service and product and less time sending one to one emails.
It never occurs to me if I was or wasn't an entrepreneur. I think as an adventurer and curious person I am I loved to tried things. And I never get comfortable with the standard type of life, or I never really want it. I'm not a 9-5 office person, and when I worked as one, it didn't last long.
Just for definition, an entrepreneur; is a person who sets up a business or businesses, taking on financial risks in the hope of profit.
I started since early age doing odd jobs to have some cash, as my family was a hard-working family, and they didn't give me any week money. When I got a heritage from my grandmother, I invested in gas and oil shares. The love to be curious and keep learning. I did many courses, keep learning and keep open to get better in what I love.
I worked as a photographer, graphic designer, shop assistant, a cashier in a casino, waitress, web designer, teacher, digital consultant...
A list of a few businesses created: photography services, coffee place, teaching academy, web design studio, digital coach consultancy.
More than 20 years, it looks me, to be where I'm now. As a woman entrepreneur, working in what I love; helping women with technology and digital tool.
And this is not my end of the journey, for me, this is just the beginning. I have plans to do other things, to grow, to share my knowledge, to write a book, to travel (when it will be possible), and so on.
And of course, this entrepreneur life is not for everyone, and it's not easy. Just find your way to work and create your own definition of success and balance.
I love it as it gives me the freedom to organise and create my work life around my family, passions and hobbies.
So if you chose this life, yes, it's possible; to have it all and have your balance between work and family.
If you feel overwhelmed with technology or doing so many manual tasks in your job, let's have a chat, I can help you.
One critical factor for all, it's to increase visitors to our website, aka our web traffic. We want people to visit our website so they can know what we do and how we can help them.
Just to have your website publish is not enough. If they don't know about you, they don't visit you or search by your name or the type of job you do. Also, it will be hard to find you if you don't have a unique name or unique job.
My name as a sample, oh my, there are so many ' Laura Moreno' - actress, singers, comedian, athlete, scientific. For me, it will be hard to compete with my name and don't even try with my job title. Which it's hard to define, I'm a web designer, a developer, a digital toolset helper, a multi-passionate entrepreneur...
So to help you to bring traffic to your website I will tell you 3 simple actions you can do now, yes, right now. That it will help you to get traffic to your website and help you to rank better in Google or any search engine. (which it's SEO)
First, be in social media active and direct people to your website. Use the bio URL in your Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, all the social media platforms you use. And make sure it's your website, or a part of your website - latest blog post, a freebie.
You don't own social media platforms so make sure you bring visitors to your website to visit it and they sign up for a freebie, free consultation call or similar offer relevant you and your niche.
Second, optimise your images and add the alt text (alternative text) for all your images on your website. Adding alternative text to photos is first and foremost a principle of web accessibility. And, search engines like websites with good web accessibility 😉
In your website, if you use WordPress - go to your dashboard - under Media - and click on each image, you will be able to see the 'alternative text'. Write what is that image about it.
Name your images descriptively and in plain language.
For Instagram, click on your in a post you want to add the alt text, top right click on the three dots.
Then tap on 'edit'.
It will open first all the text to edit, so scroll up and you will see an 'Aa' symbol on a circle, and next to it 'alt text' - click/tap there.
You will able then to add alternative text relevant to these images or graphic.
And why?! Because thanks to that feature relevant searches will come upon any search engines, for your website, Instagram and soon more social media platforms, making your content more accessible to all.
And finally, write quality content and start blogging. Blogs are not dead, and they won't be soon. People search via Google mainly, and others search engine daily about how to do things, news, learning new stuff, about everything!
And write for your ideal client and niche, not for everyone. And make sure you have meta descriptions (Yoast SEO Plugin is great on WordPress) and good headers.
I use a header analyser to check how well my headers can perform on search engines and make sure I will include specific words relevant to my niche in my copy (the famous keywords).

And done! Three simple steps, you can start now, little by little, to improve your ranking and get more traffic to your website.

SEO: Search engine optimisation is the process of improving the quality and quantity of website traffic to a website or a web page from search engines. Keyword: A keyword, or a focus keyword as some call it, is a word that describes the content on your page or post best. It's the search term that you want to rank for with a certain page. So when people search for that keyword or phrase in Google or other search engines, they should find that page on your website
Entrepreneur life, freelance and business life can be challenging if you do alone, and more if you want to do all by yourself.
I learned on the hard way, as much as I love my job I cannot do all, and sometimes we don't have resources to hire someone.
So what I can do!?
Simple, find which process you can automate in your business.
"There is a rule that applies to all, 80/20, what 20% of your efforts bring in 80% of your results?"
Few samples you can start to simplify your life with some automated process or templates that help you in the long term.
Emails: schedule emails for clients, follow-ups and even the most question/s asked via email.
You could set up and automate responds base on key subject words and even an automatic reply with the most question asked and give the answers to your website or other file and still write it if it was you to write the email.
E.g., I have a sequence of follow up email when someone signup on my website = customer journey. And also I had set up a series of follow up emails for clients' work.
Invoices: are you still manually send an invoice to your clients every month and then check if they pay you?
You can use Stripe, Paypal or other invoice payment tool to create a repeat invoice and just get notifications if someone didn't pay or your money in the way of your bank (oh yeah!).
Booking: how long it take you for you and a prospect check and confirm both available to book time in your calendar for a call? Few hours?
I use a booking tool for any client and prospect book my time, so I will know when is coming up on my calendar (all sync) and I don't have to go back between emails and WhatsApp of 'what time works for you?"
Tools you can use; Calendaly, Reservatucita.online, WordPress booking system for your website.
Posting in social media: are you still thinking about what to post on social media and when?
Organise your calendar so every month you book your self for a whole day so you can write, create and organise your social media posts for an entire month, and schedule them with a social media schedule app (Preview, Later, Facebook Business Suite or other Social Media scheduler app).
“Make your life easier and make apps and systems work for you, not the opposite. “
